Is there a way to use a png sequence as an animation guide?
What is the best way to use an animated png sequence you created in another program as a guide inside Spine? Is there a way to knock that guide png sequence back so that you can clearly see the rigged character?
First, create a new bone anywhere on the stage. This is to hold the sequence.
next, place the PNG sequence in its own folder inside the main images folder (for organization)
In Spine's Setup mode: Select all the needed images from the folder and drag it onto the bone. This will center all the images. From here, you can do this however you feel but I recommend putting all the attachments into just one single slot first - so that you can toggle between your chosen frame and keep the reference sequence need with only one slot in Draw Order.
Keyframe your sequence in Animate mode now and you're done.
You can move the bone to where it best suits your needs as reference. You can then change the draw order of the slot containing all the attachments so that it appears below.
Thanks so much @stikkanimate
There's also this user made utility: Importing PNG sequence out of place in Spine
