I'm seeing issues undoing on OS X... wondering if anyone else is seeing this.

Sometimes when I undo, it works as expected. Other times, if I monkey-mash Command-Z, it eventually undoes the last thing I did.

In fact, it seems to stop working properly after the first undo.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open Spine.
2) Rotate an image.
3) Command-Z to undo. (Should work).
4) Rotate image again.
5) Command-Z to undo. (Fails for me).
6) Monkey-mash Command-Z for a while. (Eventually undoes the rotate).

It seems like if you let go of the command key, and then re-press it between attempts it's more likely to succeed. If you hold command the entire time and just press "z" while it's in the failed state it doesn't seem to ever recover.

If you let go of command and re-press it in between attempts it doesn't always work immediately... sometimes it still fails, but other times it seems fine.

Happens in Java 6 and Java 7.

Ugh... I just had this affect "Command-S" too. Whatever it is may not be specific to undo.

Ok, will take a look. Thanks!

We're encountering the same problem (undo sporadically doesn't work on OSX).

Been working on a new app launcher that should make things so much better on OSX. Huge PITA for me, but it will be pretty cool. Wanted to finish it tonight but doesn't look feasible as it's 3:30am here. It's actually done and working, but needs proper testing. It's the launcher for the trial and full version, so it needs to work right since it affects everyone. It'll be released tomorrow for sure, along with a few other things.

Excellent!

yeah I can't undo either... sniff.

and if there is a layer-lock, i haven't found it yet.

Yes, unfortunately the 1.1 update has not helped the undo issue on Mac OSX. First undo has about 90% reliability, 2 undos 30%, and going back 3 steps, good luck. 🙂

I've noticed that letting up on the command key after a failure seems to improve reliability for me.

It seems like if you keep the command key held after it fails, it tends to stay broken, where as if you let go and re-press command and z it seems to increase the success rate.

Aye, the new launcher wasn't enough to fix the OSX issues. A new OpenGL backend will do it though, been working on that all day. Would like to have it done tomorrow, if not then the next day.

Any progress on the Mac version of the software? We've integrated Spine into our workflow and are very pleased with it, but the undo bug is a major sore point.

Cheers,

Tavish

Yes, Spine on the Mac has been fixed for a while now. The latest version is 1.2.4. If your version is very old, you'll need to download Spine again. After that it will auto update.

hey there,
just wondering how to get the updated version for my mac,
download just gives me version 1.0
worked fine for my windows system some weeks ago !?

The version reported by the About Spine menu on the Mac will always say 1.0. Sorry for the confusion! To check your version, run Spine and click the Spine logo in the upper left.

ah thanks for clearing that up.
but in that case undo seems to be still broken on mac.
downloaded today (v. 1.2.3)

Can you be more specific?

oh it kind of works now.
cmd + y works on mac while (european keyboard layout)
ctrl + z does for windows oO?!

edit: is it supposed to work that way? 😃

Ctrl on Windows is equivalent to cmd on Mac. I don't have a European keyboard (I am in Europe though! :p), but is it typical for apps to use ctrl+Y with your keyboard for undo? With a QWERTZ keyboard I think ctrl+Z is hard to press.
