And to answer your question: Yes I was able to launch Spine before. I last used it about 12 hours ago during lunch.

Would it help if I deleted (or moved) the update from the updates folder and launched again?
(Or would that cause more trouble?)

Okay, I got it running!

What I did:
In <user home folder>/Library/Application Support/Spine/updates/
I moved (for all intents and purposes deleted) 1.3.23
When I launched Spine, it re-downloaded the 1.3.23 and successfully ran!

Sorry for all the trouble.

For reference, it looks like the corrupted 1.3.23 is larger than the working version for some reason:

Nate,
would you like me to send the corrupted update to you in case you'd like to inspect it?

Yes, you can always delete the updates folder and it will download the latest. I can see from your logs it thinks it already has the latest for some reason, even though it doesn't. Somehow 1.3.22 got saved as 1.3.23?! No need to send it, it is definitely 1.3.22. With so many updates recently, I'm thinking maybe I was uploading a new build right when you updated. Sorry about that! 🙁

Huh, unlucky me I guess?

Anyway, I'm glad it's working now. Other than today, Spine has been working great for me so far.
Thanks for the support!

Cool. 8) Yeah, today has been a SNAFU, that's for sure. I'm moving from runtimes to editor features now, so there will be updates more often. I don't plan on them causing this much trouble though! I've made some bigger changes first, to allow you guys to turn off automatic updates. This affects the update process and the launcher, which is a huuuge pain for me to work on compared to working on any other part of the editor.

I've uploaded a new launcher (v1.2.1) for Windows and I'm packaging and uploading a new one for Linux and OSX now. If you go to the Settings dialog in Spine when using the old launcher, it will mention you should update your launcher. Download and install Spine again using your link you were emailed, then the Settings dialog will allow you to choose what version of Spine you want to run:
